What kind of photographer doesn’t have a self portrait that indicates the skill level he or she is currently at? ME! That is, until today.
After watching froknowsphoto.com’s portrait photography video, 5 Min Portrait, I felt it was time to do something about it. I whipped out the gear in the living room, set it all up near the largest window I could find and tweaked the settings until I was happy with a couple of shots. It’s damn near impossible challenging to shoot a 105mm from 1.5 meters away and still frame the shot properly.
I got a couple of frames I liked and went into Lightroom to tweak them a bit. I asked my wife for help on the colour correction on the coloured one (obviously) with the glasses on, because of my blatant photography handicap: colour blindness. I don’t know what went wrong, but for some reason the colour temperature on the original shots were way too warm and the had a red colour cast. I hope I corrected that properly.
Can you dig it?
